What is a festival without a pair of Ray-Bans? There are not
many things in life that I cannot live without, but my Ray-Bans are one of
those things. Established in 1937, the Ray-ban Aviator was designed to protect
US air force pilots from high-altitude glare. Today Ray-Bans Aviators aims to
satisfy an active and contemporary look and is a must have wardrobe item for
any girl or guy who loves the ‘Ray-Bans’ way of life; fun, fearless and active.
“This Saturday the 23rd of November, Ray-Ban presents ‘Onesight Acoustics’ at the exquisite Backsberg Wine Estate in Paarl. This relaxed yet uber trendy event will raise funds for OnsSight and will feature amazing local performers such as Arno Carstens, aKing and Al Bairre. OneSight is Luxottica’s global charity that helps give back the gift of sight through eyewear clinics, to those who cannot afford it. Over the last 25 years OneSight has helped 8.4 million people in 40 countries to receive proper vision care. Ray-Ban, as part of the Luxottica Group, supports OneSight and the aim for this acoustic day out at Backsberg Wine Estate is to raise R130 000-00 for the charity.
Funny man Rob van Vuuren, who recently returned from a very
successful tour of ‘Three Little Pigs’ to Edinburgh and Amsterdam, will be the
MC for the day. In addition to the excellent entertainment value ‘OneSight
Acoustics’ is set to deliver, this day out is in aid of a very worthy cause.
Help OneSight to eradicate the global vision crisis, affecting more than half a
billion people, whose sight could be restored with an eye exam and a pair of
glasses. Money raised from this event will specifically go towards the annual
Vision Clinics hosted in South Africa.
Food stalls will serve light meals while Backsberg will be selling wine, beer (please no BYO) and soft drinks - picnic baskets and blankets are encouraged for those who want to make a day of it. Ray-Ban urges everyone to be responsible – don’t drink and drive.
Tickets are available online from Plankton.mobi – R150 per ticket, with kids under 6 allowed in for free and over 6 (up to 18 years) only R80 per ticket. Gates will open early at 11am while entertainment kicks off from 2pm” (Press Release,Ray-Ban)
