Clipinhair (Review)

Remy hair extensions are quickly becoming a must have fashion accessory item in South Africa. Clipinhair, based in Cape Town sells affordable, lightweight and extremely easy too attach  100% Remy hair extensions. With eleven different colours to choose from you are bound to find the perfect match! They also come in different lengths as well as styles (straight or wavy).
I have personally owned my own set of Clipinhair extensions for about year now and absolutely love them! They are amazing quality and it was the lowest price on the market without compromising at all on the quality!

As girls, we all love to look and feel beautiful, and one of those ways is making our hair look beautiful. When I have my extensions in I automatically feel more confident and beautiful. With festival season around the corner there is no excuse to look absolutely fashion forward with a pair of Clipinhair extensions. As long as you know how to look after your set of Clipinhair extensions, you will be absolutely fine.

Synergy,Rezonance, Rock the River and Ultra are all events that are within the next few months! If you are like me and have always wanted to wear your extensions to a festival, but are always too afraid they will get ruined...read on.

Caring for Your Clipinhair Extensions at a Festival:
  • After dancing for hours, your hair is bound to be tangled and a bit knotted so when you get back to the tent, comb your hair out with the Tangle Teezer brush
  • If pieces of grass, thorns etc get stuck in the extensions don't start pulling it out as this will pull the air out of the clip. Rather take the extensions out and slowly start taking it out with your hands and Tangle Teezer brush
  • If you spill alcohol into your hair and it is all sticky, make sure to wash it when you get home from the festival. When washing the extensions make sure you do so very gently (See bottom of post for Youtube tutorial on taking care of your extensions)
  • Do not sleep with the extensions in (no matter how drunk/tired or both )! Make sure that you take them out and comb them before putting them into their box.
  • When you get home from the festival make sure to give them a gentle wash with both shampoo and conditioner. Remember that blow-drying can cause unnecessary damage and hair loss so don't do this too often. Remember to always use heat protective products when blow drying/straightening or curling your extensions.

Festival Fashion for Summer 2013
This  seasons festival fashion is filled with crop tops, bra tops, high waisted denim shorts, flower headbands, pastels and pinks. Clipinhair extensions are amazing as they not only give one heaps of confidence but all the celebs are going to festivals with their extensions. They automatically change an outfit from an average festival outfit, to a fashion forward bohemian goddess! The colour strips and feather strips are really hot for this Summer, they come in a variety of colours and are super affordable and easy to maintain.

Diamond Dreams Launch

On Thursday the 21st of November Amina Parker and I went to the Diamond Dreams event on behalf of Cosmopolitan Magazine. Diamond Dreams is a new Diamond engagement/wedding ring store in Canal Walk. Before you even look at the diamonds, you first find yourself staring at the beautiful romantic decor. From the Scott Fitzgerald books, to the portraits of well known couples, the entire store shouts out 'love'. The rings are out of this world beautiful and made me very envious of any bride to be!
On arrival we could choose any number from the ring boxes, and at the end of the launch a lucky draw was done and the winner won a beautful drop diamond necklace.
To view more of Diamond Dreams, you can get hold of them on Twitter @DiamondDreamsSA or their website or you could do yourself a huge favour and go view their amazing rings at shop 613 Canal Walk (and perhaps persuade your loved one to buy you some diamonds?)

OneSight Acoustic Event Giveaway

What is a festival without a pair of Ray-Bans? There are not many things in life that I cannot live without, but my Ray-Bans are one of those things. Established in 1937, the Ray-ban Aviator was designed to protect US air force pilots from high-altitude glare. Today Ray-Bans Aviators aims to satisfy an active and contemporary look and is a must have wardrobe item for any girl or guy who loves the ‘Ray-Bans’ way of life; fun, fearless and active.
                                                             My two pairs of Ray-Bans

“This Saturday the 23rd of November, Ray-Ban presents ‘Onesight Acoustics’ at the exquisite Backsberg Wine Estate in Paarl. This relaxed yet uber trendy event will raise funds for OnsSight and will feature amazing local performers such as Arno Carstens, aKing and Al Bairre. OneSight is Luxottica’s global charity that helps give back the gift of sight through eyewear clinics, to those who cannot afford it. Over the last 25 years OneSight has helped 8.4 million people in 40 countries to receive proper vision care. Ray-Ban, as part of the Luxottica Group, supports OneSight and the aim for this acoustic day out at Backsberg Wine Estate is to raise R130 000-00 for the charity.

Funny man Rob van Vuuren, who recently returned from a very successful tour of ‘Three Little Pigs’ to Edinburgh and Amsterdam, will be the MC for the day. In addition to the excellent entertainment value ‘OneSight Acoustics’ is set to deliver, this day out is in aid of a very worthy cause. Help OneSight to eradicate the global vision crisis, affecting more than half a billion people, whose sight could be restored with an eye exam and a pair of glasses. Money raised from this event will specifically go towards the annual Vision Clinics hosted in South Africa.

Food stalls will serve light meals while Backsberg will be selling wine, beer (please no BYO) and soft drinks - picnic baskets and blankets are encouraged for those who want to make a day of it. Ray-Ban urges everyone to be responsible – don’t drink and drive.

Tickets are available online from Plankton.mobi – R150 per ticket, with kids under 6 allowed in for free and over 6 (up to 18 years) only R80 per ticket. Gates will open early at 11am while entertainment kicks off from 2pm” (Press Release,Ray-Ban)

Luckily for you I have a set of double tickets to this amazing event on Saturday 23rd November. This event is a perfect way to not only mingle with the Ray-Ban crew as well as socialites, but a  way to give back to a really good cause!

The New MADISONBLACK Range

#MADISONBLACK #MADISONBLACK #MADISONBLACK #MADISONBLACK

Shoes never dissapoint, you can slip on a pair of heels and suddenly transform not only your entire outfit, but your mood for the evening. I am a complete money conscious person, and as much as I wish i could just close my eyes and spend a few thousands on a pair of heel, i just can't.
A few months ago I discovered Madison The Heart of New York, a shoe shop that is targeted at women such as myself, fierce independent fashionistas. They have an a wide range of shoes, from flats boots, sandals and heels, which are all truly unique and affordable.
Madison has just come out with a new range, this range is called MADISONBLACK,and is a total must have for SS13/14.

Madison Shoes is the new black! Since black is always 'hot and happening' in the fashion industry, Madison Shoes has decided to name this their new range of super exclusive, limited edition styles.
Simply slip into your IT Girls character by wearing a pair from the new #MADISONBLACK range. Expect to see sky-high wedges, gladiator heels, metallic's and ankle straps, perspex heels and fine patent details.

This range is super limited as there are only 100 pairs of each style available (Yes you heard me right,100!), so you better close the laptop cover and get to your nearest store now.
With the new #MADISONBLACK range, each customer will be given the opportunity to put on a pair of trendy ready-to wear heels, while still maintaining the cost-effective pricing that the brand is associated with. Madison refuses to let you fork out an arm and a leg to pay for shoes, instead they offer an affordable range of high fashion footwear. The range will be available exclusively online from www.madisonheartofnewyork.com and will release style by style over 5 weeks starting from November 17 2013.

The Electra Black is most certainly my must have shopping item right now! It is seductive, and incorporates cut outs of grey and black material with a shocking blue or pink heel. This is the shoe to own right now and will look super stunning at your next event! It's retailing for R719 online, and remember there are only 100 available, so get yours now!

Live and Dine like a Queen- Victoria and Alfred.

Last weekend I was treated to an absolutely amazing few nights at Victoria and Alfred Hotel. Victoria and Alfred Hotel is nestled in V&A Waterfront, and was rebuilt in 1990 into a luxury 94 roomed hotel, which has the most breath takingly beautiful view of table mountain. Victoria and Alfred Hotel was named after the Queen of England and her son and it certainly does live up to it's prestigious name. It has incredible fercilities such as a state-of-the-art  gym, an amazing spa called Urban Beauty, and 24 hour room service fercilities!

I was treated to a wonderful back massage at Urban Beauty Spa, as well as daily breakfast at Oyo Resturant as well as an unforgettable four course and cocktail dining experience at Dash Resturant.

The V&A Waterfront is an amazing destination to stay if you are visiting Cape Town, or even if you are just looking to enjoy the mother city more fully. There are loads of activities available at the V&A Waterfront. Some of the activities I tried while I was there include; a yacht ride, the aquarium and lunch at Awe Africa in the V&A market.

To Book to dine at Oyo Resturant at Victoria and Alfred Hotel: Click Here

Things I recommend you do if you stay at Victoria and Alfred:
  • I highly recommend Dash Resturant. Their cocktails are extremely popular and too delicious for words.
  • Book a massage at Urban Beauty, the  beauty therapists are really kind, gentle and nurturing.
  • Go shopping! V&A Waterfront is now home to Tiger of Sweden clothing shop- do you need another reason to shop?
  • Take a boat ride along the canal. It is only R30 and you can use the boat as many times as you want.It goes along the canal from The One and Only to about where the CTICC is.This way you get to see alot of the buildings and city vibe around Cape Town.
  • Go clubbing! I tried out Alba Lounge last weekend for the first time and it was such an awesome experience, the interior is really luxurious and it has an amazing view of the docked boats at V&A Waterfront.
