My Secret Santa Gift

My Secret Santa was Megan (Blog: Waiting For Meg), she sent me an incredible box filled with amazing goodies such as soaps for when I have long relaxing baths, edgy colour nailpolishes for Friday nights out in Long Street, a pack of funky straws forwhen I make homemade berry and mint cocktails and an amazing flower headband from Mr Price. My Secret Santa certainly knew my blog and personality well as she chose goodies that suited me spot on!

A huge thank you not only to my Secret Santa, Megan but also to Kelly Tromp who organised the Secret Santa this year. It really is an awesome idea and is a great way for bloggers to get to know one another and for thelocal blogosphere to grow.

Summer Make Up Must Have's

A few days ago there was a massive beauty sale at my work (Cosmopolitan Magazine, Cape Town), so I decided it was about time I threw out all my old make (those bright pink palettes, and broken lipsticks eewh) and took advantage of the beauty sale.

There are a few must have's for this Summer when it comes to make up. For this Summer remember the following; "THCC", which means 'tan','hair','cheeks' and 'colour'. If you remember THCC you are bound to look absolutely fabulous and Summer ready!

My new make up and beauty products. Photo: Instagram @meaelston

1)   TAN  - My number one must have for Summer 2013/2014 is good tanning products! The worst thing to see on the beach is horrible Oros man tan lines on the back of a girls legs, and even worse that that is sunburn! Below is the amazing tanning and sunscreen product 'Caribbean Tan' range, as well as moistuiser with a tint in. These products are incredibly important if you want to ensure a safe tan and a moistuised tanned body this Summer!

2) HAIR- During Summer, ones hair can become very britle, damaged and unhealthy. The key is constant treatment and TLC. Hannon offers a wide range of hair care products.I personally love the Hannon hair moisturiser and the Hannon hair silk.

 3) CHEEKS - There's nothing more beautiful than well applied blush to make a natural Summer face! My fav brands for powder cheek colours are NYX and Revlon and my fav mouse cheek colour brand are Coco Chanel and Elizabeth Arden. For holidays this Summer 2013/2014 the natural look is totally in! Go for the light BB cream cover with a glittery bronze/light pink blush with mascara. This look definetly says 'beach ready'.

4) COLOUR- Colour is a must must must have this Summer! Bright lipsticks and bright nail polishes must be on your Christmas list this year! They are not only super cute, but really easy to wear ith most outfits and hair colours, and can be mixed and matched with different colours and styles. I love green/ blue nailpolishes for my toes and bright oranges and pinks for my hands. As for lips NYX  range offers absolutely amazing palettes with 5 different lipsticks/glosses to choose from. This Summer, pinks are in, Revlon, Gosh and Woolworths have some super amazing lipglosses in brights that are bound to turn heads.

Synergy 2013 – Festival Fashion

These day’s festivals have become a lot more than just listening to music and camping. What you wear to festivals is a huge thing. Synergy 2013 was held at Teewaterskloof dam from the 29th November until the 1st of December 2013. The fashion this year at Synergy was absolutely incredible! It was very 'boho goddess' style, with crop tops, baggy shirts, tie dye, headbands, high waisted shorts and feather hair clips!
I was absolutely enchanted with all the unbelievably amazing fashion trends at Synergy 2013 that I decided to show you some of my 'must-have' festival fashion trends for 2013/2014 festival season!

Montino Wines at Synergy 2013

Montino Wines had a wonderful activation store at Synergy 2013! It was filled with hot guys, girls in bikini's,  swimming pools, colourful couches and a really awesome dj playing some sick beats. Oh... and did I mention there was loads and loads of wine going around? Yes! With three awesome wines to choose from (Petillant Light,Petillant Rose and Montino Rosso) it was certainly a hot spot at Synergy! The pool and couches made for an awesome chill area while we watched awesome local and international artists performing from the main stage!

Make sure to follow Montino on Twitter and keep your fridge stocked up with these low sugar, incredibly refreshing drinks!

Clipinhair (Review)

Remy hair extensions are quickly becoming a must have fashion accessory item in South Africa. Clipinhair, based in Cape Town sells affordable, lightweight and extremely easy too attach  100% Remy hair extensions. With eleven different colours to choose from you are bound to find the perfect match! They also come in different lengths as well as styles (straight or wavy).
I have personally owned my own set of Clipinhair extensions for about year now and absolutely love them! They are amazing quality and it was the lowest price on the market without compromising at all on the quality!

As girls, we all love to look and feel beautiful, and one of those ways is making our hair look beautiful. When I have my extensions in I automatically feel more confident and beautiful. With festival season around the corner there is no excuse to look absolutely fashion forward with a pair of Clipinhair extensions. As long as you know how to look after your set of Clipinhair extensions, you will be absolutely fine.

Synergy,Rezonance, Rock the River and Ultra are all events that are within the next few months! If you are like me and have always wanted to wear your extensions to a festival, but are always too afraid they will get ruined...read on.

Caring for Your Clipinhair Extensions at a Festival:
  • After dancing for hours, your hair is bound to be tangled and a bit knotted so when you get back to the tent, comb your hair out with the Tangle Teezer brush
  • If pieces of grass, thorns etc get stuck in the extensions don't start pulling it out as this will pull the air out of the clip. Rather take the extensions out and slowly start taking it out with your hands and Tangle Teezer brush
  • If you spill alcohol into your hair and it is all sticky, make sure to wash it when you get home from the festival. When washing the extensions make sure you do so very gently (See bottom of post for Youtube tutorial on taking care of your extensions)
  • Do not sleep with the extensions in (no matter how drunk/tired or both )! Make sure that you take them out and comb them before putting them into their box.
  • When you get home from the festival make sure to give them a gentle wash with both shampoo and conditioner. Remember that blow-drying can cause unnecessary damage and hair loss so don't do this too often. Remember to always use heat protective products when blow drying/straightening or curling your extensions.

Festival Fashion for Summer 2013
This  seasons festival fashion is filled with crop tops, bra tops, high waisted denim shorts, flower headbands, pastels and pinks. Clipinhair extensions are amazing as they not only give one heaps of confidence but all the celebs are going to festivals with their extensions. They automatically change an outfit from an average festival outfit, to a fashion forward bohemian goddess! The colour strips and feather strips are really hot for this Summer, they come in a variety of colours and are super affordable and easy to maintain.
